safeTALK — Suicide Alertness for Everyone

Free In-Person Suicide Prevention Training

safeTALK is a three-hour suicide alertness training designed to help people age 15 and older recognize signs that someone may be thinking about suicide and learn how to connect that person with appropriate support and resources.

Participants learn how to notice and respond to invitations for help, have open and direct conversations about suicide, build confidence in connecting someone with further care, and explore how personal attitudes and beliefs can affect our ability to respond.

Training Details

Dates: Wednesday, September 30 OR Thursday, October 29, 2026
Time: 4:00–7:00 PM
Location: Goshen Public Library, 366 Main Street, Goshen, NY 10924
Format: In person
Cost: Free
Age: 15+
Presenter: Dhanu Sannesy
Registration: Registration closes one week before the selected training date.

About safeTALK

Developed by LivingWorks, safeTALK teaches participants to recognize suicide alerts, engage someone directly and connect them with life-affirming help. The goal is to build safer, more suicide-alert communities by giving everyday people practical skills for responding when someone may be at risk.

Registration

Choose Orange on the registration page and select either the September 30 or October 29 session.

Register for safeTALK

For that last line, make “Register for safeTALK” your button and attach the registration link from the flyer to it.

One correction, though: this particular flyer isn't an ongoing support group. It's a scheduled suicide-prevention training with two available dates. So I would categorize this under Classes & Trainings rather than Support Groups. When you send me the ongoing groups, I'll word those differently so visitors can immediately tell the difference.
